GP Vets are excited to join BYDG's growing team of supporters and have made BYDG their Charity of the Year.
Karol Wall of GP Vets writes "Here at GP Vets, our team is passionate about supporting the local community. After all, most of our clients are local!
This year, we have decided to support Basingstoke Young Diabetics Group.
The Group exists to promote confidence in dealing with the needs of a young Type 1 diabetic person, encouraging and developing their independence and assisting them in looking after their condition as they move to adulthood.
A number of our staff are living with either Type 1 or Type 2 diabetes and are keen to ensure that young people fully understand how to live life to the full despite being diagnosed with a chronic illness. We are living proof that you can!
A number of our clients can also relate to Type 1 diabetes as they too provide insulin supplements to their pets. Those diagnosed with diabetes can go on to lead a great life if their insulin dosage is managed well, much the same as their human counterparts.
We are very proud to be associated with this wonderful charity, and would welcome any support you can give, whether through donations or through helping out at charity events."
