An NCS group based in Basingstoke recently chose to raise money and awareness for BYDG because type 1 diabetes has had a huge effect on some of our group members after they sadly lost a friend last year. They said...
"BYDG is a great charity that has a huge impact on young people who are suffering from Type 1 diabetes. The money we are raising is going to help fund for the annual residential trip BYDG is hosting in 2017. This will give the young people a chance to gain independence and give them a chance to go on an adventure. What BYDG is doing is amazing and we are proud to be supporting them."
As a result of their fantastic fundraising they've raised £580 for next year's Fairthorne trip... and created a great YouTube video especially for BYDG https://m.youtube.com/watch?feature=share&v=Yff5asVrFuo

National Citizen Service (NCS) is a project for young people between 15-17year old. This project is about giving young people a chance to learn new skills like leadership and learning to work with a team.
The project runs for 4 weeks; weeks 1 and 2 are about giving the young people a chance to have their own responsibility, they stay away from home. The first week is about doing activity that they may not be able to do again. For example, we did rock climbing, abseiling, kayaking and many more activities. Week 2 is more about learning new things and doing workshops.
Week 3-4 is about raising money and awareness for a chosen charity, we have to plan a fundraiser and week 4 is about putting that plan into action.
