Happy New Year to all our members!
With the New Year comes a new name - Our new Group name is now Hampshire Paediatric Diabetes Group, which takes over from the long standing Basingstoke Young Diabetics Group (BYDG), but don't be sad, the new name reflects the fact that members are from Winchester, Alton, Bordon, Eastleigh, Basingstoke and everywhere in-between.
It also meets the wish of Diabetes UK to move away from the term 'Diabetics' as it is felt that people should not be first and foremost defined by their condition ("diabetic"). Hence "People With Diabetes" and similar phrases, are now preferred.
The new name Hampshire Paediatric Diabetes Group may become "HPDG" overtime, but for now we're practising saying it in full!
